At Espiritu Montessori, we are here to partner with families, providing guidance , as we co-create a nurturing environment where every child can flourish.

We are building a supportive community that celebrates the unique journey of parenthood.

Education should no longer be mostly imparting of knowledge, but must take a new path, seeking the release of human potentialities.

 FAQs about Montessori

  • Named after Italian doctor Maria Montessori, this educational approach, active for over a century, is rooted in her observations of children and continues to evolve.

Montessori, founded on the belief in children's self-development and their ability to reach their true potential, emphasizes creating tailored environments to support their needs at each developmental stage. While commonly associated with early childhood education, Montessori offers a lifelong approach from infancy through adulthood, fostering natural development beyond schooling.

  • In traditional education adults decide what children need to learn and the ability to retain and reproduce information is used as a measure of academic success. The teacher is the active giver of information and children are passive receivers.

In the Montessori approach it is all about the activity of the child. The teacher takes on a different role, that is, to provide the right kind of circumstances so that children can be guided to find what they need from what is on offer. Children then become active learners and are able to reach their own unique potential because they are learning at their own pace and rhythm focussing on their own particular developmental needs at that moment.

  • Montessori education builds a child’s capability to become a fulfilled adult able to contribute to the world—at home, at work, and in their community. Maria Montessori’s observation of human development from birth to adulthood led to an education approach that supports children’s natural development, providing the skills and support to reach their full potential in life. With a strong emotional, behavioural, and moral foundation, children become motivated, active, and independent learners who are prepared for the real world.

Montessori is carefully designed to bring out the best in individuals and connect them with others. We take the time to know each child, to plot out a course for their natural development, to observe how they are doing, and to work with their interests to build on their strengths.

  • Through engaging sessions, we explore the principles and practices of Montessori, unraveling its profound impact on every developmental stage.

Our collaborative approach offers spaces for shared learning and co-creation as we navigate the Montessori philosophy together.

By emphasizing observation and understanding the unique needs of each child, we unlock the transformative potential of Montessori as a lifelong aid.

Expect dynamic discussions, hands-on activities, and practical insights that empower you to integrate Montessori principles seamlessly into your home or classroom.

Our workshops aren't just about learning; they're about embracing a holistic approach to education that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit of every learner.

    * All of our workshops are available in English and Spanish.
